Day 2 Reflections

What did you do today?
-We relooked at the agar plates that was left for one day to let let the bacteria divide, and split the bacteria into 2 groups, gram+ and gram- .
-We used microscopes to magnify bacteria,as they can't be seen with naked eyes.
-We worked on our presentation about bacteria and presented it to the professor and teachers.

What did you learn today?
-Bacteria needs the following to grow:Temperature,PH level(6.6 - 7.5),osmotic pressure,oxygen and nutrients
-Very few bacteria can survive high salt solutions
-How to properly operate a microscope
-Gram Staining

How do you feel about today’s activities?
-The first part of the day was relax and fun when we were separating the bacteria into the different group and looking at bacteria through a microscope. The panic and anxiousness came when groups were called up to present, but overall the experience of the NTU Flagship Program was an interesting and fun one.
